Each year for the Winter Holidays, Dr. Roz’s Healing Place provides our current and past clients with the generous contributions of gifts and sponsorships given to us by our supporters. The families that receive these donations are in need, and with your support our overall aim is to make our clients’ holiday season as positive and happy as possible. The gifts and sponsorships for the mothers and their children are essential to our goal of making their Christmas Holidays as wonderful as possible.
If you are interested in making a contribution to directly support our clients, or if you would like to inquire
about the kinds of sponsorships and gifts that are needed and how it all works, please call our Building Manager, Jamie at 416-264-0823 x 242

The Basketeers was started by their founder, Cheryl Stoneburgh in the year 2000, as a means to support mothers and children who have experienced or witnessed domestic violence. Cheryl and her few friends who began this great project created 14 baskets that year. Now, having expanded to nearly 3500 volunteers and donors serving 8 different regions across Ontario, they were able to put together 1603 baskets last year for Christmas and donated them all to the clients of 39 agencies that support victims of violence.
The baskets may contain any household item one can think of. Coffee makers, linen sets, dishes and cutlery, purses, perfumes and body wash all make great gifts. Any small appliance, toiletries, cookware or luxury items can make up a basket. The possibilities are limited to ones imagination and as you will see in the pictures below, the baskets can look just as amazing as the things that are put in them.
Dr. Roz’s Healing Place has been a particularly proud and grateful recipient of these wonderful baskets for many years, and we are looking forward to another successful year with the Basketeers. If you are interested in supporting this project, making your own basket, or want further information about this wonderful project, please contact Ginny Slike at virginia.slike@sympatico.ca, or visit the Basketeers website at http://www.basketeers.ca. There you will also find additional information about their various other initiatives and any contact information you may need.
