Snug as a Bug Kids Helping Kids Gift Box Donation
In 2009, Dr. Roz’s Healing Place had the privilege of meeting Sophia Gran-Ruaz, a young woman who began the Snug as a Bug Kids Helping Kids Charity 6 years ago, providing 10,000 packages to children and youth in 9 shelters across the GTA. For approximately 10 months of each year, Sophia collects donations from over 60 companies and organizes the products into age and gender appropriate categores. On their annual Packing Day, all items are organized into bags and delivered to shelters across the GTA, with the help of over 60 volunteers.
This year, we had the special opportunity to benefit from care packages once again.
To Sophia and the Snug as a Bug Kids Helping Kids donors, volunteers and to all the behind the scenes supporters,
we would like to thank you for your support.
Deloitte
Dr. Roz’s Healing Place is a proud and grateful community partner of Deloitte. For the past 3 years, we have been a small part of Deloitte’s “Impact Day” here at our centre, and we couldn’t be happier for their generosity and support. Impact Day involves Deloitte professionals from across Canada that take part in a firm-wide day of volunteer service, dedicating their time to working together on community projects and supporting the communities in which they work and live. Instead of going to work in the office, they go to work in the community. Trying to make a difference in ways that will better our local communities, they contribute to “hands-on” projects like painting, tree planting and in our case, prepare and cook a wonderful lunch and dinner here at our centre for all of our clients. We serve women and children from across the world, and the Deloitte staff always accommodates our client’s religious and cultural necessities.
