 Training

We have developed the beginner’s module. The module is interactive and involves skill sharing amongst participants. The module will be tailored to meet the needs of specific communities and delivered to address special needs which allows for inclusion of participants with different learning abilities.

Textile and Garment Waste Up-cycling Solutions – Participants will learn hand painting, stencilling, embroidery-styled stitching, patch work, applique techniques, repair techniques, natural dying etc.

Design Management – Up-cycling requires specific methods of repair techniques and up-cycling methods and craftsmanship therefore the creative process is important to ensure that the production process is manageable, and in some instances potentially scalable. Through the participant’s development of a mini collection allows for a better understanding of design management.

Curating and Styling – Training in styling and approaches to creating contemporary ensembles within the up-cycling category.

Client Services – Developing good client relationships; ones that are mutually beneficial and are important for the purposes of customization and good business practices in general.

Basic Business Skills Training – Book-keeping, costing and pricing, developing a mini collection, social media set up and guidance, labelling and logo design.

Building Brand – Build your fashion brand by examining your values, your mission, what you stand for, your brand story, and more.

Creating Mini-Collection – Learn how to develop your own concept and intended audience for a fashion mini-collection (a select amount of pieces that represent your brand) utilizing the skills acquired.

Completion Event:

On the last day of the programme, we will celebrate with the participants by showcasing their work to the community. The centre will also award the participants a Certificate of Completion. By providing support throughout the process of training and certification, DRHP SUSTAINABLE FASHION TRAINING PROGRAMME assists survivors to graduate with the skills and industry knowledge.
