COVID Pushed Us to the Other Side

COVID Pushed Us to the Other Side June 21, 2021

COVID has taken the world by storm. It has been shocking, unpredictable and destructive. It flashed through our systems, our nation and our world like a roaring thunder followed by a quickening light. Day by day, we were left in a whirlwind of fear, doubt and surprises. Some of us were left broke and in debt, while others have flourished with unexpected wealth. Nonetheless, we all felt vulnerable to this deadly disease.

COVID has proven to be a powerhouse of nature. It appeared to have the power to take us all in a direction that we never imagined and certainly not one that we planned for. It pushed and pulled as it darned well liked and we were forced to go with its flow. We were all floating down the stream with it, feeling limp and motionless. We felt powerless and in a lot of cases, we felt helpless.

What we did not realize was that despite this terrible force of nature, we were able to stop, reassess, redirect and redesign our lives.

Having a new outlook on life, many have been able to do things that they never thought of doing before the invasion of this pandemic. While COVID has cause devastation to nations in many ways; some people have been able reconstruct and improve their lives in various others.

Bernadette began baking for the first time in her life and now has a busy baking business.

Bella decided to do a four-year law degree online and is enjoying every bit of her learning and looks forward to a new and unplanned career direction.

Nicola always wanted to learn to sew. She got herself a machine from marketplace; looked up YouTube tutorial sessions and is now trying to manage her orders.

Petra got herself a dog that she has to walk each day. Due to her daily walks, she was able to regulate her blood pressure, shed some unwanted weight and get to know her community.

COVID came to drown us all; but many of us came out on the other side.

Take advantage of this pandemic disruption if you can, don’t let it get the best of you.
Stay on the right side of this pandemic!
