Are you looking for a way to help and don’t know exactly how? Let us help you find the perfect volunteer opportunity to suit your lifestyle, talents and abilities. Dr. Roz’s Healing Place values the opportunity to work with volunteers as we rely heavily on volunteer support in order to meet the various needs of our clients.

Each year, we meet and interview approximately 50 new potential volunteers, each with unique interests, experiences and goals to be met.

Dr. Roz’s Healing Place maintains a roster of approximately 100 volunteers per year which includes the Board of Directors, Placement Students and regular volunteers.

We appreciate the time that volunteers make in order to give back to their communities. Therefore, the Volunteer Program within Dr. Roz’s Healing Place is designed to meet your needs. As a volunteer, you can work with us once per week, bi-weekly, or monthly, depending on your availability.

Please note that volunteers are unable to shadow or take on the role of a front line counsellor. Any role that involves client interaction will involve the direction and support from supervisory staff.

Client Accompaniment

Many of our clients may not be familiar with navigating the city or with taking the TTC, may not speak English, or may simply need the company and support while venturing out into the community. Clients often go to court to obtain restraining orders, press charges against their abusive partners and fight for custody of their children. As a volunteer within this role, you will be responsible for accompanying clients to various appointments and relaying important information back to the front line staff.
